Women's Soccer is an easily overlooked sport. This year, the program has changed in the head coaching department. Recently, Coach Tarnowski resigned as head coach of the women's soccer team after accepting a new role in the Department of Education at Appalachian State University. With a new head coach comes new team expectations, hopes to win the conference, and hopes to go far in the state playoffs this year under the new coach, Ash Morgan.

Beginning the Season -

With a new coach comes new expectations. Coach Ash Morgan received many great recommendations from the current seniors.

"I really like Coach Ash. He knows the game better than anyone I've ever met. He was my club soccer coach for 2 years," said senior Savannah Duvall.

Many teams strive to have a great team culture, which helps with team chemistry and with teammates getting along easily, and makes it easier to achieve great results throughout the season.

"I knew once I heard Ash was going to be a coach, a difference was going to be made," said senior, Savannah Rogers. "Ash has been great and helped out with team culture and play so much on and off the field."

Soccer isn't just a game - It's a tradition.

For most athletes, their sport has been their life. These athletes have played soccer for their entire lives. Many of this year's seniors have been playing the sport since childhood.

"Soccer has given me my best friends and put me in a position to see what a real community is like. It shows me what different characteristics kicking a soccer ball can bring," said senior Mattie Durham.
