How to learn a new song:
How to learn a new song:
1) Clap and say the rhythm using Ta, Ti-Ti, Rest, To-o, and To-o-o-o. Remember the O’s in To-o and To-o-o-o are palm slides (just like in class). Check out the video “Reading Rhythms” that will help you do this.
2) Label the notes. Watch the video “Note Reading” to help you do this. You can also use your fingering chart, as well.
3) Play the notes slowly, and speed up when you are comfortable.
