I teach a wide variety of students who have a wide variety of capabilities. I always provide several possibilities to meet everyone's needs during our class time together. I hope you enjoy discovering with your student the power of Art in Motion to help strengthen their bodies, brains, and emotional well being.
Adapted physical education is the art and science of developing, implementing, and monitoring a carefully designed physical education instructional program for a learner with a disability, based on a comprehensive assessment, to give the learner the skills necessary for a lifetime of rich leisure, recreation, and sport experiences to enhance physical fitness and wellness.
You can help your child do the whole lesson, break it into mini lessons, or find the activity that will best support their goals. They should have a minimum of 30 minutes a day of physical activity that increases their heart rate. The goal is a Lifetime of rich leisure, recreation and sport experiences for mental and physical well-being.
Keep in mind we only spend 5-10 minutes on each activity in class. My advice is to enjoy the journey, be patient and explore these fun ways to move and explore with your student.
