GVCs
Guaranteed Viable Curriculum
GVC = Guaranteed Viable Curriculum = What students will walk out of sixth grade knowing.
CFA = Common Formative Assessment = A way to measure and assess specific learning targets.
#1 Reading Literature: I can independently read and comprehend grade level literary text.
Learning Targets: I can identify the theme in a passage.
#2 Reading Informational: I can independently read and comprehend grade level informational text.
Learning Targets: I can identify the central idea in a passage.
#3 Writing: I can independently write for a variety of tasks, audiences, and purposes.
Learning Targets: I can write an argument to support a claim while informally citing evidence from text.
#4 Language: I can use standard conventions accurately when writing and speaking.
Learning Targets: I can use common grade appropriate Greek and Latin affixes and roots as clues to the meaning of words.
