The partnership also has a grant for supporting the KSP150: Introduction to Education course in our districts as a concurrent enrollment course.
Peer Tutors
This year, MDE is piloting Peer Tutoring as a component of this grant. Students who are currently or were previously enrolled in KSP150 can serve as peer tutors.
Benefits include:
Providing students with practice of the skills acquired in the KSP150 course,
Gaining clarity on their level of interest in a career in the teaching profession, and
Earning a $350 stipend.
$350 stipend up to 70 students enrolled in or previous students of the concurrent enrollment Intro to Education to serve as peer tutors
Practice skills acquired in the concurrent enrollment course(s), gain increased clarity on their level of interest in pursuing a teaching career.
Support 30 peer tutors in Year 1 and 40 in Year 2.
Priority to students from underrepresented and prioritized groups outlined in original grant proposal (District determined)
Students of Color or Indigenous Students

Stipends will be awarded to students who provide at least 20 hours of peer tutoring during the year and complete short reflection components on the experience
