Thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about the KHE Student Council! If you are interested in helping to make your school and community a better place to learn and live, you may be a good candidate for our Kissel Hill Elementary Student Council.
Students interested in running for Student Council must have a parent/guardian fill out the Google Form linked below. Permission forms are due on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Candidates running for KHE Student Council must be in the 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grade.
The duties of a Student Council Representative include:
Attend after-school student council meetings and occasional recess planning sessions. After-school meetings will be twice a month from 2:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. Meeting dates TBD.
Bring ideas and suggestions from class members to the meetings.
Report information back to his/her class and a K-2 classroom.
Assist any new students that may join your class throughout the school year (school tour, welcome card/note, lunch buddy)
Help with the development of school and community improvement projects.
Help promote Kissel Hill Elementary pride and student ownership.
Demonstrate citizenship and the 3 R’s (respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn)
October 25: Permission forms are due.
October 28th: Speeches should be ready and approved by teachers. (Posters are optional.)
October 28 - November 1: Campaign week takes place. Candidates will share their campaign speeches at a time determined by their homeroom teacher.
November 5: Student Council Election Day
