Dear Bonfield Families,

The leaves are changing, pumpkins abound and there is a chill in the air! The signs of fall are all around us and it is such a wonderful time to be at Bonfield! Our students have been busy learning, growing, and making memories through the many exciting activities and experiences happening throughout the building. From celebrating the changing seasons and enjoying fall-themed activities to participating in classroom projects, special events, and field trips, there is so much to celebrate! We are grateful for the continued partnership of our families and the enthusiasm our students bring to school each day. Thank you for helping make Bonfield such a special place to learn and grow!

Family Conferences

Each year, Warwick offers family conferences for teachers and families to meet and discuss each student’s progress. Family engagement is a key element to student success, and we are excited to host this event. Conferences are schedule for

November 23 from 3:20 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and
November 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:20 p.m.

Parking lot Safety

Our parking lots are super busy - especially at drop off in the morning. This is especially true at the Kindergarten drop off area. We need everyone's help and patience to get our students into the building safely. If you are dropping off at the Kindergarten side of the building, please note the following:

Dropping off at the designated area is preferred. You can pull up and your student(s) can get out and walk into the building.
If you park your car and walk your student to the building, please do not cross through traffic. Walk the perimeter of the parking lot to get to the building or use the cross walk. This may take a little longer, but it will be much safer for pedestrians.
Please drive at a safe speed and be aware of cars trying to pull in and back out of parking spaces.
Do not pass cars that are dropping off. Wait in line.
Avoid texting and phone distractions while driving.

October is Fire Prevention Month. Thank you to our local First Responders for visiting and teaching us!

Health Screenings

Health screenings for students will be completed throughout the school year by our health room staff. As your child's health screening is completed, information will be updated on the parent portal. If you would like to opt your child out of the height and weight health screening, you must submit this request in writing to the building principal.

PTO Updates

Thank you to everyone who supported our PTO's fall fundraiser.

The students had a lot of fun bringing their stuffed animals to school and the teachers had just as much fun after school taking selfies and entertaining the stuffies!

Volunteer Opportunities

Cafeteria Volunteers

We are always grateful for extra hands to support in the cafeteria, especially at the beginning of the year, as students learn routines. Our volunteers who have assisted have loved the opportunity. We'd love any district-approved volunteers who are interested in assisting at the start (or throughout) the year, sign up here to come in and volunteer over lunch.

Tech Warrior Changes

New for the 26-27 school year, the Warwick School District is moving to a "pay-as-you-break" technology plan. Every student receives a school-issued device at no upfront cost to families. To keep our technology program sustainable, families will only be charged a fee if a device requires repair due to accidental damage, loss, or neglect.

Care for your device, keep it safe, and pay $0 all year long!

Please see this link for reminders of drop off/pick up locations at JRB. Remember, please do not leave students unsupervised prior to 7:45 as we do not have supervision prior to that time.
