Course grade
Each marking period 20%.
Midterm and Final: 10% each
Term grades are rounded to the tenths place. The final course grade is rounded to the whole number.
Marking period grades will be weighted
Academic Responsibility: 0% see comments below
Marking Period Projects: 10%
Intraunit assessments(graded practice, classwork, quizzes, labs): 40%
End of unit assessments (projects, major labs, and tests): 50%
Academic Responsibility Assignments (note checks, practice problem completion, etc):
These assignments are vital to class success, but are not graded for accuracy.
They are marked for completion but have a 0% weight.
At the end of each marking period, they are one of the components evaluated for extra credit.
Extra Credit/Grade Boosters/Test Corrections
Extra Credit: You may earn 1% extra credit in each overall marking report period grade if you have earned at least an 90% for your academic responsibility. You must have no missing intra-unit or MRP project assessments.
Grade Boosters: These are not extra credit, but additional assignments that can be completed to ideally boost your grade. Details are posted in the resources section of this website.
Test Corrections: These encourage relearning of a difficult unit and the possibility of earning back some missed points on a unit test (not the midterm/final). Typically only allowed once per marking period unless a separate plan with Mrs. Lynch has been created. See here for more details.
If you miss class:
If you know you are going to miss class, please email Mrs. Lynch ahead of time for work request.
If the absence is unplanned, check what you missed for the day by going to the daily agenda on Google Classroom. If you are unable to make up work class and lab work with on-line resources, schedule a time to meet with Mrs. Lynch.
It is your responsibility to make arrangements in order to complete your make-up assignments within the allotted time period.
Academic responsibility assignments will often be marked "excused" in the gradebook due to the fact that keys have been posted. This does NOT mean that you don't need to complete the work for understanding of course content.
Late work
Late work is not accepted with the exception of 4 late passes per year for intraunit assessments. If you would like to use a late pass for an assignment, email Mrs. Lynch or include a note on the Google Classroom assignment. The late passes will be tracked in the gradebook.
No late work is accepted for academic responsibility assignments.
