Attendance Policy for Summer School Session I Online:
Students will be required to check in online twice each morning with a WCS certified instructor.
Failure to do so, along with not completing assignments on time to complete the course in four weeks, will result in probation and potentially dismissal from the online course.
Students will be encouraged to follow the morning agenda established by the certified teacher, however, completing lessons and assignments in the afternoon and evenings is encouraged and certainly permitted. Teachers will work with students independently and likely be “on call” during reasonable hours of the day and evening to advise and assist your “after hours” efforts.
Students will complete lessons only four mornings a week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday are considered “online summer school days” with Wednesday and Weekends off. The four days a week session will last for all of June. Start date: June 1 & End date: June 26.
Students will only need to complete approximately 6 -8% of the course each day to earn credit. Certified staff will be available each morning to assist, teach, and advise students individually if they face any issues with the subject matter.
Many students, especially with WCS certified teachers assistance, will be able to earn credit early. Teachers will keep students on track. Students may opt to work faster and finish assignments and lessons sooner than the scheduled times.
Students will complete the online course “off campus” for the June session. Students should have a reliable internet source and an IPAD or laptop computer to complete the course with online assistance from a WCS certified teacher.
APEX courses are set up in units. Each unit has a lesson, in which the student will read about the given topic (or the program will read to the student), and a quiz where the student will complete questions about the lesson.
The quizzes are typically 10 questions for each lesson. At the end of each unit, there is a final test. Every course has a differing number of units, but there are typically under 8 units, in each course. If you have questions, you may contact your certified teacher for help and assistance.
