Some explanation is necessary here... I have a shared Google Classroom with four elementary schools grades 2-5.
My main objective is to build a community while inspiring students to advance their technology skills.
The way I get them to buy in, when there is no grade and it is not required? I turn learning into COMPETITIONS!
Our focus this year was how to use Google Drawings, are you surprised?
Here are some of our featured competitions so far...
This concept can be applied to numerous things...
what can your students design?
Include video directions so they can rewind and watch the steps as they complete the activity
Create a template for students directly in Google Classroom, or create it in Drive and "Make a Copy" for each student.
Add any components you are looking for to the template.
Creating templates in advance is particularly important for the K-3 group!
BONUS: Creating the template in Drive allows you to spy on their progress!
