Keeper of the Lost Cities

Process: 

I made the “Keeper of the Lost Cities, By Shannon Messenger” book cover design by using Canva. I chose this book because it is a long time favorite of mine. I read it in my fourth grade year and it had such a strong impact on me. The whole story revolves around a girl named Sophie Foster, and she deals with so much change, but she never gives up. She got thrust into this new magical world that had so much contrast to her old home in San Diego, so my book cover was supposed to portray when she went into that new world with her friend, Fitz Vacker.

I hid the STLP logo in two areas of my design: the back of the boys shirt, and to the barrett in the girls hair. I also included my favorite quote from this book on the back cover of the design, “I’d rather be punished for making the right decision than live with the guilt of making the wrong one.” I added various animations to make the scene have movement and I tried my best to make it look as though two people were about to step into a new world because, in all honesty, they were.
