Dear Bobcat Families,
As June comes to a close and July begins, we are excitedly looking ahead to a new school year filled with learning and opportunities for our Bobcats!
As previously shared, please save the date for our 2026–2027 Open House on Thursday, August 6, from 5:00–7:00 PM. We will also host Kindergarten Camp on Monday, August 3, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. These are wonderful opportunities to tour our school, meet our dedicated faculty and staff, and begin building strong connections for the upcoming school year.
We are also excited to introduce our PTO officers and SBDM members for the new school year:

Both of these groups play an important role in supporting students and staff at Richardsville Elementary, and we are grateful for the time, effort, and leadership they provide. Once meeting dates are finalized for the year, they will be shared on the Family Bobcat Bulletin. We encourage you to attend any meetings that interest you—your input is always valued and appreciated.
We are still accepting nominations for the vacant parent representative position on SBDM. Nominations may be emailed to respto18@gmail.com through the end of the day today. Voting will take place on Monday, July 6, from 8:30 AM–3:30 PM at Richardsville Elementary.
As you continue to enjoy your summer, please also make sure your Bobcat is registered for the upcoming school year. If you need assistance with the registration process, please feel free to call us at (270) 777-3232 during office hours. Please do not delay in completing registration, as these numbers are essential for finalizing class placements and preparing for the school year ahead. Kindergarten Camp - August 3rd
Kindergarten Camp - August 3rd
Richardsville Elementary is excited to welcome our newest Bobcats to Kindergarten Camp! We know that starting kindergarten is a big milestone that can bring both excitement and a few nerves—for students and parents alike. Our Kindergarten Camp is intentionally designed to help make the transition to Richardsville Elementary a positive and enjoyable experience for the entire family.
When you arrive:
Parents should park and walk their child into the school for breakfast. After breakfast, students will head to classrooms with our kindergarten teachers and assistants while parents move to the gym for a brief presentation with Mrs. Hickey and Mr. Proffitt. During this time, we will share important information about the upcoming school year and how we can work together to help your child have a successful start to kindergarten.
While students are with their teachers, they will experience a fun preview of kindergarten by:
-Meeting the kindergarten teachers and making new friends
-Touring the school
-Learning classroom routines and expectations
-Participating in engaging classroom activities
-And much more!
After the presentation parents will be dismissed to leave and asked to return back to Richardsville Elementary by 11:45 a.m. for our special Kindergarten Signing Ceremony, where we will celebrate this exciting milestone as our newest Bobcats officially begin their journey at Richardsville Elementary. The event will occur in the gym and will conclude at approximately 12:00 p.m.
We can't wait to welcome your family to Richardsville Elementary and help your child begin this exciting new adventure with confidence. We look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 3!

Summer Break is here! Please see the attached graphic for summer break office hours. We will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-1pm, with the offices closed from June 25th - July 9th.
We hope all of our Bobcats and their families enjoy the summer, time off, and time with friends and family!

In "The Leader in Me" framework, WIGs stand for Wildly Important Goals, which are specific, measurable, time-bound goals that help students and staff focus on essential academic or personal targets.
Our School's Attendance WIG: Our school's attendance percentage will increase from 93.59% to 96% by May 2026.
Our School's Academic WIG: By May, 75% of Richardsville students will score at or above the 60th percentile on the i-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic.
These Wildly Important Goals help students focus on, building leadership, accountability, and self-efficacy. These goals help break down larger objectives into achievable steps using lead measures and scoreboards. The next time you're at our school, stop by our scoreboards to see how we are doing on meeting these WIGs!
