Dear Bobcat Families,
As we wrap up the month of September, I want to take a moment to celebrate the many wonderful things happening at Richardsville Elementary! Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and commitment to helping our Bobcats learn, grow, and lead.
Our Bobcats showed up in a BIG way throughout September! We were able to meet our daily attendance goal multiple times this month, which is something to celebrate. While we did not quite reach our monthly attendance goal, our September attendance average was 95.63%. Every day matters, and every student who comes to school ready to learn makes a difference! A special congratulations goes to Mrs. R. Hudson's homeroom for winning our September Attendance Challenge! Their class will celebrate with a popcorn party! Way to show up, Bobcats!
As we head into the fall season, please continue encouraging healthy habits at home and at school. Remind your children to wash their hands regularly, get plenty of rest, and eat healthy so that we can all do our part to keep our Bobcat family healthy and learning.
Fall Break is just around the corner! I hope each of our families has a safe, fun, and relaxing break filled with opportunities to make special family memories and "sharpen your saws". Whether you spend your time traveling, enjoying the outdoors, catching up on rest, or simply spending time together, I hope you return refreshed and ready for all the exciting things ahead!
We will host our Parent Engagement Day PLC on November 2nd. Teachers will begin setting up conference times with families when we return from Fall Break. We look forward to partnering with you to celebrate your child's successes, discuss their growth, and identify ways we can continue supporting them throughout the school year.

Chuck E. Cheese Spirit Day – October 9
Come enjoy some family fun at Chuck E. Cheese and help support Richardsville Elementary PTO! A portion of the proceeds from the day will come back to our school. Be sure to let them know you are with Richardsville Elementary when you visit!
Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Our annual pumpkin decorating contest will be back when we return from Fall Break! Keep an eye out for more information and get those creative ideas ready!
Fall Fest & Trunk or Treat – October 23 at 5:30 PM
We can't wait to celebrate the season with our Bobcat families at Fall Fest and Trunk or Treat! Mark your calendars and plan to join us for an evening of fun.
Book Fair - October 23 - 31
Our fall book fair will open on the night of the Fall Festival and will stay open through the afternoon of our fall parties.
Red Ribbon Week – October 26–30
We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week as we encourage our students to make healthy, positive, and responsible choices.
Fall Parties – October 30 at 2:45 PM
Our K–6th grade fall parties will take place on Friday, October 30th, beginning at 2:45 PM. Please remember that all visitors must have a valid government-issued ID when checking in at the front office.
Thank you for all you do to support our students and our school. I am so proud of the way our Bobcats continue to lead, learn, grow, and show up each day. Together, we are creating a school where every student feels welcomed, supported, and encouraged to become the BEST that is within them to be.

Hard work pays off! We are thrilled to share our KSA state testing results:
-Jumped from 75.6 to 79.7 overall
-Grew in almost every tested area
-Proudly maintained our GREEN status!

Stuents are welcome to participate in Digital Citizenship Week this week. This is an annual event that teaches students, teachers, and families how to use technology safely, responsibly, and critically. Optional dress up days are in the attached graphic!

Richardsville Elementary will be celebrating Fall Parties on Friday, October 30!
Classroom celebrations will begin at 2:45 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend and join in the fun as students enjoy festive activities and treats!
Please remember that a valid, government-issued photo ID is required to enter the building. No ID = No entrance. A valid ID must be presented for entry on the day of the event.
Click this form serves as pre-registration for pre-printed visitor badges. Pre-registering will help you get through the line faster the afternoon of the parties. To pre-register, your valid government-issued ID must already be scanned into our Raptor Check-In System.
Please note: Pre-registration does not replace ID requirements. All visitors must have their valid government-issued photo ID in hand on the day of the event to enter the building.
🕒 The deadline to pre-register is Friday, October 23.
If you choose not to pre-register, you will still need to sign in using the Raptor system upon arrival. Please note that this process can take time, and we only have two scanning stations available—so plan accordingly.
We can’t wait to celebrate the season with our Bobcats and enjoy a day full of fall fun! 🍁🎃

Our fall book fair will open on the night of the Fall Festival (10/23) and will stay open through the afternoon of our fall parties (10/30). We look forward to our students and families shopping!
Pumpkin Book Character Contest
Pumpkin Book Character Contest
Families can read a book, and then decorate a pumpkin at home to either resemble one of the book’s characters, or go with the book’s theme. The students can then bring their masterpieces to school to disPlay and enter into the contest. Contest begins now, and Pumpkins can be brought into school from Monday, October 12th through Trunk-or-Treat / Fall Festival on the night of October 23rd

Our Robotics Team will be having hat day fundraisers on the following days: October 14th & 15th, November 4th, December 2nd, January 6th, February 3rd, March 3rd, April 14th, and May 5th. Your student may bring $1 in and turn it in to their teacher if they would like to support our robotics team!

Richardsville Elementary Club Information
As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, we use the 7 Habits to help students develop leadership skills in every area of their lives. Through club participation, students have opportunities to Be Proactive, Begin With the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. Whether a student is creating, competing, performing, serving, problem-solving, or simply exploring something new, each experience helps them grow as a leader.
We encourage every student to find a club that sparks their curiosity, challenges them to grow, and gives them a chance to make a splash and lead the way! Below is a list of the clubs that will be offered at Richardsville Elementary this year. Please be on the lookout for sign-up forms for each club as they will have additional information about each club and will be required for entry into the club.

In "The Leader in Me" framework, WIGs stand for Wildly Important Goals, which are specific, measurable, time-bound goals that help students and staff focus on essential academic or personal targets.
Our School's Attendance WIG: Our school's attendance percentage will increase from 93.59% to 96% by May.
Our School's Academic WIG: By May, 75% of Richardsville students will score at or above the 60th percentile on the i-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic.
These Wildly Important Goals help students focus on, building leadership, accountability, and self-efficacy. These goals help break down larger objectives into achievable steps using lead measures and scoreboards. The next time you're at our school, stop by our scoreboards to see how we are doing on meeting these WIGs!

Super Saturdays will be held October 17, 24, and 31, 2026. Students will spend all three Saturdays exploring one engaging, hands-on course alongside peers who share their enthusiasm for learning. Courses include topics in science, mathematics, art, history, writing, music, performance, and more.
Families can view this year’s class offerings and register at:

Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for the three-week program is $120, and financial assistance is available.

Super Saturdays registration is now open! Students in grades 1–6 who demonstrate high ability or a strong interest in a topic are invited to explore engaging, hands-on courses through The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU. The fall session will be held October 17, 24, and 31, 2026. Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so families are encouraged to register early. My Sister Is Succeeding is an academically engaging mentoring and leadership program. Grades 6–8 meet on Wednesdays, while Grades 9–12 meet every other Saturday. The Grades 6–8 program has a heavier focus on fun with reading and writing, while the high school program integrates reading and writing with college and career-focused activities.

The priority deadline to apply is September 9, but applications will continue to be accepted until the programs reach capacity or begin.
