Dear Bobcat Families,
What a wonderful start to the school year we have had at Richardsville Elementary! Our hallways and classrooms have been filled with excitement, learning, and lots of smiles. It has been so encouraging to see our students settling into routines, building relationships with their teachers and classmates, and demonstrating what it means to be a Bobcat. We are so thankful for the support and partnership of our families as we work together to make this a successful school year!
One of our major schoolwide focuses this year is attendance, and I am excited to share that we met our attendance goal for the month of September with an attendance rate of 97.15%! Thank you to our families for making school attendance a priority. Every school day matters, and being at school consistently gives students the opportunity to learn, grow, and make progress. We are looking forward to High Attendance Day on September 9th, and we would love to see 100% perfect attendance across our school! Let's make it a day to remember!
Our students have also begun working on their i-Ready Diagnostic in both Reading and Math. This assessment helps us better understand what each student knows and what they are ready to learn next. An especially exciting part of this process is that our teachers are working with students to set individual goals and help them understand their own academic progress. We want our students to take ownership of their learning and recognize that they play an important role in reaching their goals. We are excited to watch them grow throughout the year!
As we move into September, please take note of these important dates:
September 7 – No School: Labor Day
September 9 – High Attendance Day! We are aiming for 100% perfect attendance!
September 10 – Fall Pictures
September 14 – Grandparent’s Day
Families who would like their children in different grade levels to eat lunch together with their grandparents/guests must complete the Google pre-registration form located on the Bobcat Bulletin (this form closes on September 4.
Anyone planning to attend must have a valid government-issued ID in hand to gain entrance to the event.
September 18 – No School: Teacher PLC Day
Thank you for helping us make the beginning of this school year such a positive one. We are proud of our students, grateful for our staff, and appreciative of the continued support we receive from our families and community. There is so much to look forward to, and I can't wait to see all that our Bobcats will accomplish this year!

Ski Daddy's Spirit Night 9/17 @ 5-8pm
Ski Daddy's Spirit Night 9/17 @ 5-8pm
Join us at Ski Daddy’s this Thursday from 5:00–8:00 PM for a fun night out! When you purchase a meal, a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to our Richardsville PTO.
We’d also love for our Bobcat students to get involved! Students can volunteer to help at the restaurant by cleaning tables for a 30-minute shift. It’s a great way for our students to show leadership and help support their school!
If your student would like to volunteer, please email respto18@gmail.com and let them know what time you would like your student to volunteer.
We hope to see lots of our Bobcat families at Ski Daddy’s! Let’s show our Bobcat spirit and support our PTO!

Richardsville Elementary Club Information
As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, we use the 7 Habits to help students develop leadership skills in every area of their lives. Through club participation, students have opportunities to Be Proactive, Begin With the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. Whether a student is creating, competing, performing, serving, problem-solving, or simply exploring something new, each experience helps them grow as a leader.
We encourage every student to find a club that sparks their curiosity, challenges them to grow, and gives them a chance to make a splash and lead the way! Below is a list of the clubs that will be offered at Richardsville Elementary this year. Please be on the lookout for sign-up forms for each club as they will have additional information about each club and will be required for entry into the club.

In "The Leader in Me" framework, WIGs stand for Wildly Important Goals, which are specific, measurable, time-bound goals that help students and staff focus on essential academic or personal targets.
Our School's Attendance WIG: Our school's attendance percentage will increase from 93.59% to 96% by May.
Our School's Academic WIG: By May, 75% of Richardsville students will score at or above the 60th percentile on the i-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic.
These Wildly Important Goals help students focus on, building leadership, accountability, and self-efficacy. These goals help break down larger objectives into achievable steps using lead measures and scoreboards. The next time you're at our school, stop by our scoreboards to see how we are doing on meeting these WIGs!

Stuff the Bus will be supporting the fun run event by sponsoring “Stuffy’s School Challenge.” The area school with the most students participating will be awarded a $500 grant for its Physical Education Department!
Students will be asked to identify their school during registration, so it is important that they register online beforehand and note 'Richardsville Elementary School' in order for their participation to count toward the school challenge.
The Cross Country Fun Run is open to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Super Saturdays will be held October 17, 24, and 31, 2026. Students will spend all three Saturdays exploring one engaging, hands-on course alongside peers who share their enthusiasm for learning. Courses include topics in science, mathematics, art, history, writing, music, performance, and more.
Families can view this year’s class offerings and register at:

Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for the three-week program is $120, and financial assistance is available.

Super Saturdays registration is now open! Students in grades 1–6 who demonstrate high ability or a strong interest in a topic are invited to explore engaging, hands-on courses through The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU. The fall session will be held October 17, 24, and 31, 2026. Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so families are encouraged to register early. My Sister Is Succeeding is an academically engaging mentoring and leadership program. Grades 6–8 meet on Wednesdays, while Grades 9–12 meet every other Saturday. The Grades 6–8 program has a heavier focus on fun with reading and writing, while the high school program integrates reading and writing with college and career-focused activities.

The priority deadline to apply is September 9, but applications will continue to be accepted until the programs reach capacity or begin.
