Lost River Elementary Mission: Growing Leaders
Lost River Elementary Vision: The vision of Lost River Elementary is for all students to achieve academic success and build resilience through rigorous instruction and engaging practices.
What a wonderful first full week at Lost River Elementary! Our Lions have settled into routines, worked hard, and are already showing what it means to Soar to Success. We are so proud of the positive energy and excitement our students have brought to school each day. Thank you to our families for helping make this first full week a great one and for continuing to support your child’s learning and success.
This week, we also began our i-Ready Diagnostic assessments. These assessments help us better understand each student’s individual strengths and areas for growth so that we can provide instruction and support that meets their needs. Please encourage your child to do their best, take their time, and show what they know. We are excited to use this information to help every Lost River Lion continue to grow and soar!
Your child should be bringing home information for our Coke Fundraiser. Our PTO would appreciate your support with this effort! We are also having t-shirt sales! We have a great design this year (see below) so be sure to get your own Lost River t-shirt!

Parents,
Please help set our students up for success by reviewing our school-wide R.O.A.R. expectations at home.
Respect
Own Your Actions
Awesome Attitude
Resilience
These are the expectations that we teach and praise to help promote positive behavior and create a healthy school culture.
Here are some ways that you can help:
-Ask your student what the R.O.A.R expectations are.
-Ask what each letter stands for in R.O.A.R. and what each means.
-Ask for an example of each expectations.
-Explain how you follow these same expectations and how it helps make you successful as an adult.
Together we can create a safe, positive school culture and an environment where all students can be successful.

Make reading part of your daily routine! Encourage your child to read for at least 15–20 minutes each day. Ask questions about what they are reading, such as “What happened?”, “Why do you think that happened?”, or “What do you think will happen next?” Talking about books helps children build vocabulary, comprehension, and a love for reading.
Practice math in everyday moments! Look for opportunities to use numbers at home—counting items, comparing prices, measuring ingredients, telling time, or adding and subtracting while shopping. Ask your child to explain how they figured out an answer. Making math part of everyday life helps children build confidence and see that math is all around them!

Hello Lost River Families!!
We are so excited for this school year! Please remember to fill out your Household Income Form as soon as possible! This form helps to determine what funding FRC gets for the school year and ensures every single student can get free breakfast and lunch! You can fill it out online at this link https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application or a paper copy can be sent home if the online form is not convenient. Thank all for your support!
Upcoming Advisory Council Meeting: Tuesday, September 15th at 3:00pm. We would love for you to join us and learn more about what FRC is doing in the school!

We have prioritized attendance this year both as a school and as a district. We have put together this information just to help our families understand how important attendance is to your child's educational progress. We thank you for partnering with us to have your child at school whenever possible!
Be sure to support our PTO by participating in these fundraisers!
