Our 5th graders are off on an unforgettable adventure to our nation’s capital this week! The Washington, D.C. trip is a wonderful opportunity for students to bring their learning to life as they explore historic landmarks, monuments, and museums. We are so proud of these students and grateful to the staff and chaperones who are making this experience possible. We can’t wait to hear about all they see and learn while representing our school so well!
Spring Break begins next week, and we hope this time provides a chance for rest, fun, and family time. Whether you’re traveling or staying close to home, we wish all of our families a safe and relaxing break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a strong finish to the school year!

Parents,
Believe it or not, KSA testing is quickly approaching! Our KSA testing window begins on April 28th. This is our students’ chance to show how much they have grown and how hard our teachers have worked this year. We encourage all students to be present and on time everyday, but especially during KSA testing. This is one small way to set your students up for success. I am confident that we will knock KSA out of the park this year thanks to your support, our teachers' intentionality and our students' dedication to their own education.
I hope you all have an enjoyable and relaxing spring break and come back ready to finish the year strong!

Turn everyday moments into reading practice by asking your child to read things around them—menus, signs, recipes, or directions. After reading, ask them to tell you what it said in their own words. This builds comprehension, vocabulary, and confidence.
Have your child help with real-life math at home. Measuring ingredients while cooking, counting money while shopping, or figuring out how much time is needed before leaving the house are great ways to practice math skills in meaningful ways.

We have prioritized attendance this year both as a school and as a district. We have put together this information just to help our families understand how important attendance is to your child's educational progress. We thank you for partnering with us to have your child at school whenever possible!
Please consider contributing to our Aluminum Can Recycling Program. LRES gets to keep 100 percent of the profits from our aluminum cans. The bins are on the parking lot side of the building.
Our 5th grade students had an amazing trip to Washington DC this week! We enjoyed monuments, museums, and even a presidential motorcade with a sighting of the president!!
