As we wrap up the final day of school, our hearts are full thinking about what an incredible year it has been at Lost River. It is hard to believe how quickly the days have flown by, and we will truly miss seeing our students’ smiling faces each morning. This week was filled with celebration and joy as students enjoyed Field Day, a silent disco dance party, and special moments with friends and teachers that made lasting memories to end the year on a high note.
We also had the privilege of celebrating two very special milestones. Our kindergarten students shined during their end-of-year celebrations, showing just how much they have grown, and our 6th grade students proudly walked that red carpet at promotion, ready to take their next big step. We are so proud of each and every student for their hard work this year and are grateful for the partnership and support from our families that made it all possible. Have a safe, restful, and fun summer—we can’t wait to see everyone back soon!
This year we are excited to send home Summer Bridge books once again. These books are full of high quality activities for your child to do at home this summer. Any student who brings back their book with a significant amount complete to open house or the first week of school will get a treat from our Family Resource Center!!
Congratulations to our two parent representatives for our 26-27 SBDM council: Katie Whitney and Leslie Green. We are grateful for their willingness to serve!

Keep reading part of your child’s daily routine by setting aside 20 minutes each day for reading anything they enjoy—books, magazines, recipes, comics, or even directions for a game. Visiting your local library like the Warren County Public Library for summer programs and book choices can keep reading exciting and fresh. Ask your child to tell you about what they read by restating the main idea, sharing their favorite part, and explaining why using the word “because.” These simple conversations build comprehension and vocabulary all summer long.
Math is everywhere during the summer! Let your child practice real-world math by helping measure ingredients while cooking, keeping score during games, budgeting spending money, or figuring out travel time on trips. Encourage them to explain their thinking out loud and prove their answers. Turning everyday moments into math conversations helps keep number skills sharp and prevents the summer slide.
