Lost River Elementary Mission: Growing Leaders
Lost River Elementary Vision: The vision of Lost River Elementary is for all students to achieve academic success and build resilience through rigorous instruction and engaging practices.
Thank you so much to all of our amazing families for your incredible support with our Fall Festival and our recent fundraiser! Because of your generosity, participation, and volunteer efforts, both events were a huge success and created wonderful memories for our school community. We had another fantastic week here at Lost River, filled with exciting learning opportunities, including our 4th graders' fantastic field trip to Mammoth Cave, where students explored local history and science firsthand.
Looking ahead to next week, we are excited to keep the momentum going! On Monday, our 6th graders will have the unique opportunity to tour the Impact Center to learn more about future pathways and hands-on learning experiences. We are so grateful for our active school community and your continued partnership in making every week a great one for our students!

We Need You! Parent Volunteer Opportunities
We Need You! Parent Volunteer Opportunities
We would love to have you volunteer! There are many opportunities to get involved, including reading to a class, helping with lunches, assisting teachers with bulletin boards, helping plan a class party, and much more!
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Julia Forsythe at julia.forsythe@warren.kyschools.us to coordinate your volunteer training. The process is quick and simple!

Ask "Beyond the Page" Questions When reading together at home, help build your child’s comprehension by asking open-ended questions before, during, and after the story. Try asking, "Why do you think the character made that choice?" or "How would you change the end of this story?" Encouraging your child to predict outcomes and explain their reasoning builds critical thinking and deeper vocabulary far beyond just reading the words on the page.

Spot Math in Everyday Life Show your child that math is everywhere by involving them in quick daily routines! At the grocery store or during dinner prep, ask them to help with estimating, counting, or measuring—like asking, "If we need 6 apples and we have 2, how many more should we pick?" or "Can you help me measure 2 cups of water?" Making math interactive and real-world helps build strong number sense and confidence without feeling like a formal lesson.
