Lost River Elementary Mission: Growing Leaders
Lost River Elementary Vision: The vision of Lost River Elementary is for all students to achieve academic success and build resilience through rigorous instruction and engaging practices.
Thank you to all of our families who joined us for STEAM Night! We loved seeing so many of our Lost River Lions learning, creating, exploring, and having fun together. Your support and involvement make events like this so special, and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you to make learning exciting for our students. We are truly Soaring to Success together!
We are also excited to have our first school-wide assembly of the year! These assemblies are a great opportunity to celebrate our students, build school pride, and reinforce the expectations and values that help make Lost River a wonderful place to learn. We are off to a fantastic start, and we can't wait to see what our Lions accomplish next!
Your child should be bringing home information for our Coke Fundraiser. Our PTO would appreciate your support with this effort! We are also having t-shirt sales! We have a great design this year (see below) so be sure to get your own Lost River t-shirt!

Parents,
I would like to introduce officer Amanda Janssen as our new SRO for the 2026-2027 school year. Officer Janssen will be at our school daily ensuring the safety of our students and staff. We are very excited to welcome her as the newest member of our Lost River family!
Officer Janssen Graduated from Arizona State and worked for 22 years at the Chandler Police Department in Arizona. She retired in 2024 before moving to Bowling Green. She is excited for this new opportunity to serve her community.
**If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to serve your scholars and our entire school community. To contact me directly, you can email me at clay.goodman@warren.kyschools.us or call Lost River Elementary at 270-746-0334

Make Reading a Conversation! After your child reads, ask questions such as, “What was the most important part?” or “Why do you think the character did that?” Encourage your child to explain their thinking and use evidence from the text. Even a few minutes of meaningful conversation about a book can build comprehension and vocabulary!
Practice math in everyday moments! Look for opportunities to use numbers at home—counting items, comparing prices, measuring ingredients, telling time, or adding and subtracting while shopping. Ask your child to explain how they figured out an answer. Making math part of everyday life helps children build confidence and see that math is all around them!

Hello Lost River Families!!
We are so excited for this school year! Please remember to fill out your Household Income Form as soon as possible! This form helps to determine what funding FRC gets for the school year and ensures every single student can get free breakfast and lunch! You can fill it out online at this link https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application or a paper copy can be sent home if the online form is not convenient. Thank all for your support!
Upcoming Advisory Council Meeting: Tuesday, September 15th at 3:00pm. We would love for you to join us and learn more about what FRC is doing in the school!

We have prioritized attendance this year both as a school and as a district. We have put together this information just to help our families understand how important attendance is to your child's educational progress. We thank you for partnering with us to have your child at school whenever possible!
Be sure to support our PTO by participating in these fundraisers!
