Getting Ready

Please do as much studying as you can before the examination. Pre-registration is required.

Please come prepared!

1. Get your FRN number here

3. Assemble your documents to bring with you on the day of the exam. Include:

   • Your license or a photocopy of it.

   • Photo ID—Driver's License, Passport, or Student ID
     When no photo ID is available, two forms of identification must be presented:

     • non-photo ID/driver's license (some states still have them)

     • birth certificate (must have the appropriate seal)

     • library card

     • utility bill, bank statement, or other business correspondence that specifically names the person, or a postmarked envelope addressed to the person at their current mailing address.

   • Your FRN number
     Bring your FCC-issued Federal Registration Number (FRN). VECs are required by the FCC to submit your FRN number with your license application form. For instructions on registering your SSN with the FCC and obtaining an FRN, visit the FRN FAQ and/or the FCC's registration instructions page.

   • Check made out to WARREA Inc. for $15.00. Cash is OK too

   • Calculator
     A calculator with the memory erased and formulas cleared is allowed. You may not bring any written notes or calculations into the exam session. Slide rules and logarithmic tables are acceptable, as long as they're free of notes and formulas. Cell phones must be turned off during the exam session. Cell phone calculators cannot be used during exams. SMARTWATCHES such as the Apple Iwatch may not be worn during the exam.
