We are delighted to share the Ware Academy Annual Report reflecting the 2017-2018 school year. The school enjoyed healthy admission and enrollment numbers, a strong Ware Academy Fund campaign and robust participation in our annual auction and golf tournament.
All of us at Ware Academy affirm our commitment to each of our student’s ability to maximize their individual potential. Childhood is a unique time in the life of a young person. As such, our faculty are dedicated to their students, utilizing the 7:1 student/teacher ratio to make adjustments to the program to meet the needs of every child and provide opportunities for every student to discover and develop a love for learning. The relationships which are forged between the students and their teachers endure long after their Ware Academy experience.
In addition to a strong academic program, the school’s co-curricular offerings of art, music, technology, Spanish, drama and athletics are essential elements of a Ware Academy education. Our school community is meaningful where every child and family deserve respect and care. Parents are integral, working with teachers and administrators in the shared responsibility of nurturing children who work earnestly, possess a sense of self and who understand that they are part of something greater than themselves.
Our success continues to be bolstered by the generous philanthropy of our current and past parents, grandparents, Trustees, faculty, administration, alumni and friends. Our students are the direct beneficiaries from all who regard Ware as a valued member of the community and a worthy investment of time, talent and treasure.
In the following pages listed are the names of those individuals and organizations, who through their gifts, attest to the strength and breadth of our mission and programs.
Friends of Ware Academy demonstrated their support by participating in the school’s three major fundraisers, the largest of which is the Ware Academy Fund which through unrestricted and restricted gifts funds the gap which tuition alone does not cover.
The 2017 Annual Auction, "An Evening with the Arts", took place once more under the guidance of Nick and Fran Bonniville and with the support of many generous sponsors and volunteers, raising almost $65,000 net for the students and teachers. The paddle raise portion of the evening which provided enhanced funding for the Arts secured $13,000.
With more sponsors and more teams than ever, our Annual Golf Tournament was the most successful to date, raising over $50,000. This year saw the introduction of a new sponsorship opportunity, the custom hole flags, which were enthusiastically embraced by many fresh business sponsors and by Ware Academy class parents. Thanks to the efforts of our many volunteers, our golfing partners enjoyed a fine June day at the Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.
The fiscal year ended with over $275,000 in revenue from our combined fundraising efforts. This well exceeded our goal for the year. Our success is due to the strong support from all of our constituencies and friends. On behalf of the Ware Academy community, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
With Gratitude,
