My name is Daniela Cermenati (but you can call me “Profe”). This website includes information about how we can have a successful (and fun!) year together in class.

Welcome to Spanish class! I am looking forward to have a successful year in learning the Spanish language and culture. In this classroom we have the opportunity to communicate frequently in the Spanish language with our classmates and look beyond our borders to learn new and interesting things about different cultures.
This is a proficiency-based class, we will not use a textbook. Instead, we will learn from thematic- based units, rich with authentic songs, videos, comics, etc from all Spanish speaking countries.
Things you need to know about our class.
Spanish Class meets 4 times per 6-day rotating schedule.
Students will be assessed in three modes of communication: Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational.
Conjuguemoa is a weekly assignment and is due every Friday at 2:30.
I offer retake options for tests/quizzes.
Extra help are Tuesday and Thursday 2:30 - 3:30.
Grades: Different forms of assessments will be used to determine final grades which fall into the following categories and percentages:
40% Engagement: Class work, Conjuguemos
60% Assessments: Formative Assessments and Summative Assessments
Interpretative: Reading & Listening
Interpersonal: Speaking & Group projects
Presentational: Speaking & Writing

Students need to bring a folder, writing utensil, and charged Chromebook to class each time we meet.
