Helping Hands

Here you will find some ways to help around the house and show kindness to your family/whānau.

Our Prime Minsiter, Jacinda Ardern reminds us to "Be Kind!"

Family Jobs:

  • Set the table (with supervision)
  • Clear the table (with supervision)
  • Help with food preparation.
  • Help carry in the lighter groceries.
  • Sort the laundry (whites vs. colours).
  • Match socks (washed).
  • Be responsible for a pet's food and water bowl.
  • Fold the towels.
  • Load or unpack the dishwasher (with supervision)
  • Weeding the garden.

Acts of Kindness:

  • Be kind and play nicely with your family
  • Write a friend a letter or poem.
  • FaceTime a friend and tell them a joke to brighten their day.
  • Bake some goodies for your whānau.
  • Create/make/draw something for a friend, or family.
  • Teach someone something new.
  • Help someone before they ask.
  • Feed the birds.
  • Plant/grow something for someone.
  • Help make dinner.

Personal Jobs:

  • Get dressed.
  • Make the bed (with a little help).
  • Pick up the toys.
  • Wash hands.
  • Brush teeth.
  • Tidying my room.
  • Have a go at preparing breakfast or lunch with supervision.
  • Brush my hair.
  • Put my clothes in the wash.
