Traps

Trapping pits are deep pits dug into the ground, or built from stone, in order to trap animals. European rock drawings and cave paintings reveal that elk and moose were hunted since the stone age using trapping pits. They used spears to kill them and arrows.

Another trap was to lead a animal into a bog where the would get stuck and would be killed. The animals skin was used for clothes and jewellery like rings and necklaces.

This is a cave painting of the stone age is a Elk. It represents what animals were trapped for the stone age people to eat.
