WALPOLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
GOALS AND OPPORTUNITIES
Goals
Walpole Public Schools values the contributions of its staff and recognizes that professional development is an integral component of high quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Sustained, reflective, content-based professional growth opportunities are available to Walpole staff with the primary goal of improving student achievement. In addition to participation on curriculum task forces and clusters, a variety of venues for professional development is offered on system-wide, school, and individual levels. The district is committed to sustaining the professional learning communities of educators that enable our staff to develop and enhance their skills while addressing school and district goals. These goals, as stated in the District Strategic Plan and individual School Improvement plans, are closely aligned, reflecting the vision and mission of the district:
Enhance and expand professional development by
continuing the process for determining and up-dating professional development needs.
