AUDITION INFORMATION

We will have auditions for the musical on Day One of camp! Don't know anything about auditions? DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!! We will help you out!

Just like Volcanoes in Bikini Bottom, Auditions can be scary....but not at the Wallace! Your camp counselors want to see what you can do. You should feel zero pressure. Just come in, show them who you are, and leave the rest up to them. The biggest part of a director's job is finding where every person belongs in a show. Think of the show like a jigsaw puzzle, and every one of you are an important piece. Not everyone goes in the same place, or has the same picture, but we aren't complete without you!! Auditions are just where directors find where your special puzzle piece fits!

First things first, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE AUDITIONING FOR!! We are all familiar with Spongebob Squarepants, but take some time to listen to the music and figure out what roles you like, or think that you would be a good fit for. If you can't find a role that just screams "ME!!", don't worry...that's the directors' job. They will find a role to show off all your skills!!

Next, find an audition song. There will be a speaker with bluetooth or aux capabilities, so find us a song on your phone that you can sing along to. Karaoke tracks on youtube work great for this!! If you can't find a song, we can totally rock out with "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" or "Happy Birthday"! If you are going to sing along with a track, just prepare one verse and a chorus...you don't have to sing the whole song.

After you sing, we might do a little bit of dancing or reading from the script. We will teach you everything you need to know at that time. This is a great time for you to show your directors that you can follow their directions and be a great member of the team.

There will be callbacks after lunch. This is where the directors ask for certain actors to come and read/sing again. If you don't get called back, it doesn't mean anything bad! If you do get called back....it doesn't mean anything bad. All it means is that the directors want to see you read or sing again, or to try something a different way. It's all about the puzzle pieces!
