Extra Help Day: Wednesday, Room 107

I hope that navigating to this website was simple and that you will continue to come back and check-in throughout the year!  I have designed this website for both parents and students to access, and the goal is to provide some insight into what is going on in school each month.

Please remember that Google Classroom is the best place to access daily information.  I am pushing in to six different classes, so students will join the Google Classroom for their ELA teacher. I will not have a separate Google Classroom as the interventionist.

This website will include a page for each month of the school year and will be updated once or twice a month. I will share a brief outline of what to expect, images of our classroom activities when I can, and/or some of our work! Each month's page can be accessed by clicking on the arrow next to "Home" in the top right corner of the page.

In September we spend much of our time launching our Reader's and Writer's Workshop, and I am looking forward to sharing my love of reading and writing with you all!

About Mrs. Bower

This is my fourteenth year teaching at Wall Intermediate School. I taught 7th grade for one year and then 6th grade for the last 12. This year I am now the reading interventionist and very much looking forward to supporting teachers and students in both 6th and 7th grade!

Reading, writing, and teaching are three things I have loved for as long as I can remember.  As a young girl I fell in love with reading through Shel Silverstein, R.L. Stine (although I can no longer handle anything scary), The Babysitter's Club series, and spent much time writing stories of my own.  I even enjoyed "publishing" them for my family to read.  I come from a family of teachers and spent years of my childhood making my poor younger brother and cousins play the role of "student", taking attendance at family parties, and helping my aunts grade their papers.

I did not actually start my career as a teacher, but after two years in event planning I decided to make the transition to the place where I truly belonged.  It was the best decision I ever made!
