To receive the Hope Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
1. Graduate with a Minimum 3.0 Hope GPA
Your Hope GPA is different from your overall GPA.
Hope GPA is calculated from the grades earned in your core classes (English, math, science, and social studies) and foreign language.
High School GPA is calculated from the grades earned in all the classes you take including electives and pathway classes.
How to Calculate GPA
Example: You've finished your 1st semester of high school and earned an A in English, a B in Algebra I, an A in Health & Personal Fitness, and an A in Basic Agriculture.
Hope GPA Calculation
English A = 4.0
Algebra I B = 3.0
Health & Personal Fitness
Basic Agriculture
4.0 + 3.0 = 7.0
7.0 / 2 = 3.5 Hope GPA
High LS GPA Calculation
English A = 4.0
Algebra I B = 3.0
Health & Personal Fitness - 4.0
Basic Agriculture - 4.0
4.0 + 3.0 + 4.0 + 4.0 = 15.0
15.0 / 4 = 3.75 Overall GPA
2. Take at least 4 Rigor Classes
