Admission Deadlines
Fall Semester May 1st
Spring Semester October 1st
Summer Semester March 1st
Complete both the GNTC Admission Application and the DE Funding Application.
You will need the following
A device to access applications online
Your correct date of birth and social security number must be entered accurately on both applications
A secondary email for your parent to complete the Parent Agreement on GA Futures
GNTC Admission Application Directions
Apply at gntc.edu using the Apply Now link on the top right of the GNTC home page
Select Apply Online under How to Apply
Select the New User link
Enter first and last names and a personal email address. It is not recommended to use a high school email.
Log into the personal email you provided and look for the email from Sandbox. Click on Set Password. If you didn’t get the email from Sandbox, and you listed a high school email, your high school firewall may be blocking the email. Double check spam and junk email folders as well.
Set your password to access the portal. REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD because you will use this student portal to register for Dual Enrollment Orientation.
Once in the portal, select Start a New Application
Select Dual Enrollment as application type
Fill in all of the requested information. Disregard the Georgia Testing ID section.
For High School Counselor Name, enter whoever helps you with your dual enrollment classes, or leave blank.
After supplying all information needed, you will be able to review any section to make corrections if necessary. Then click on “Submit Your Application.”
Click the checkbox, type in your name as it is listed on your application, and click on “Verify and Submit.”
After submitting, click on Return Home
You will then see the checklist of items needed. Your school counselor or dual enrollment coordinator will assist with providing placement scores. Once placement scores are received, the red X will become green check marks.
Return to your student portal often to check the status of your admission application and Next Steps.
DE Funding Application Directions
This application is how the state pays for your college classes. This application is completed once every school year that you are enrolled in dual enrollment until you reach the 30-credit hour funding cap allowed by the State of Georgia.
Go to www.gafutures.org
Select “Create an Account” at the top of the GAfutures.org homepage
Be sure to remember the username & password you create
Click “Student” and complete the profile information
Be sure to use your correct social security number to avoid errors and delays in payment
Sign In
Select HOPE & State Aid Programs tab
Select State Scholarships and Grants
Select Dual Enrollment from the list of state programs
Select Application Procedure and Deadline
Click “Apply Now”
Be sure to select Georgia Northwestern Technical and NOT North Georgia as your college
Remind parents to respond to Participation Agreement email
