Weekly Letter

Dear Parent,

I hope you and your family enjoyed your weekend.

Just a friendly reminder, there will be no classes on Friday, May 10th.  This is a Faculty/Staff In-Service Day.  MAC will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m..  Also, there are no classes and no MAC on Friday, May 24th or Monday, May 27th, as it is Memorial Day holiday weekend.

If you would like to order books from the May Scholastic Early Childhood online flyer, here is the link https:orders.scholastic.com/MQV64 .  Thursday, May 9th is the deadline to order May books online.  This is also the last book order for the school year.

The boys and girls are enjoying Theme 8: Amazing Critters and learning about bugs.  One of the bugs we are learning about are ladybugs.  The boys and girls are raising ladybugs for a fun science project.  This past week, the ladybugs went into the pupa stage.  This is when the larva goes into a shell and amazing things are happening inside the shell.  In about seven to ten days they will emerge as an adult ladybugs.

The spring weather has finally arrived.  Please be sure to send in a seasonal change of clothing for your child's clothes box.  Place the seasonal clothes in a Ziploc bag with your child's name on the bag and I will put it in your child's clothes box.

There are some wonderful activities planned for the children to explore and learn throughout the week.  We will be going into Theme 8: "Amazing Critters", Week 4: "Scaly and Slithering Critters".  The children will be learning the letters: Cc, Ii, Ll, Ss, and Ww; Learning number names 1 - 5 and counting sequence; vocabulary words: slither and scales, and the spring season.  On Wednesday, Mr. Soltis will lead Preschool - A & B in a Crowning of Mary Prayer Service.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Ms.  Evans
