Friendly Reminders

CHANGE OF CLOTHES:  Please keep a seasonal change of clothing in your child's decorated shoe box.  your child will need a complete set of extra clothes (shoes, socks, underwear, shirt, shorts/long pants) in the shoe box.  This decorated shoe box with a complete outfit will be kept in your child's cubby at school. 

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER: We do go outside several times a day (weather permitting), so please have your child dressed appropriately for the weather.  

MORNING AND AFTERNOON SNACK:  Please send a morning and afternoon snack every day for your child.  Please label morning snack and afternoon snack on ziplock bag and/or container.  Water will be served to drink at snack.  If your child should order a lunch, a morning snack still needs to be provided for your child that day.  

LUNCH ORDERS:  Families who opt to purchase lunch will use the same system for ordering that is used for payment:  My Payment Plus.  You will need your student’s ID number to set up online ordering. This number can be found on your Option C Parent Portal under the student’s name. If you need help resetting your Option C password, please contact Fran Gallagher.  New families, you will receive your login information directly from Admissions Director, Suzanne Gallagher.  

LABEL EVERYTHING:  Please be sure to label everything with your child's name on it.  We do get duplicates of things.  This also includes Show'N Tell items and your child's lunch box too.  

SHOW 'N TELL:  Show 'N Tell is every Friday.  Please check the classroom calendar on this web page each week to see what the theme is for Show 'N Tell.  Please send in a Show 'N Tell item for your child each week.  We want 100% class participation.  We want everyone to have a positive experience and not to feel left out.  

PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE ENVIRONMENT:  Preschool Classroom is a "Peanut and Tree Nut-Free" environment due to severe peanut and tree nut allergies.  There are children in the class with severe peanut and tree nut allergies and we cannot have any food with peanuts, peanut butter, or nuts.  We want every child to feel safe and to have a positive experience while at school.  Some alternatives to peanut butter are: sunflower butter, sesame seed butter, or soy butter.  

BIRTHDAYS:  Birthdays are celebrated throughout the school year on your child's birthday.  Summer birthdays will be celebrated during the month of May.  On your child's birthday, your child will choose a birthday story from the class birthday bag for the teacher to read to the class.  You may send in a non-edible treat (stickers, special pencils, 8 count box of crayons, bubbles, etc.) for your son/daughter's birthday.    

CHANGE IN PICK-UP:  Please email both Ms. Evans and Ms. Morrow when there is a  change in your child's pick-up.  This is in case when Ms. Evans is absent from school, Ms. Orchard will know the change in a child's pick-up.   

FOOT WEAR:  When your child is getting dressed in the morning for school, please have your child wear sneakers or enclosed school shoes.  Please do not send your child to school wearing flip-flops or Crocs or sandals.  The children need to wear safe foot wear on the playground when climbing, and also when walking up and down steps.  

COMMUNICATION FOLDER:  This folder will be used as the communication folder between home and school (i.e. all correspondence regarding dismissal, lunch order, book orders, homework, etc. ) and will be sent home each night.  Please be sure to empty the folder each night, and to return the folder with your child the next morning.  

WATER BOTTLES:  Students are to bring a filled, reusable water bottle with their name on it to keep in their cubby.  Water bottles can be used throughout the day and will be sent home on a daily basis to be cleaned and refilled.
