No supplies are needed for resource room. I will have all of the supplies for the students.
In the Kindergarten Resource Room we will work on letter recognition, letter sounds, reading and writing. We will also work on number recognition, counting, adding, and subtracting.
In 1st through 4th Grade Resource Rooms we will work on students' goals in regards to reading, writing, and math.
In my classroom, a behavior chart or ticket system is used. Each day students are placed on green or given 4 tickets. If a student is working hard, the student will be moved up the chart or earn a ticket. If a student is not following directions or makes a poor choice, the student will be moved down the chart or lose a ticket. Throughout a student’s time in my class, the student may move up or down/ gain tickets or lose tickets depending upon the choices the student is making. If a student did not make a good choice at the beginning of class, it does not mean the student cannot end their time on green, light blue, dark blue, or purple, or with 4 or more tickets. As soon as I notice the student has started to make a good choice, the student is moved up one color or given a ticket. My students know if they end the day on purple/10 or more tickets or red/0 tickets, I will either make a phone call home or send an email. My students also know the phone call for ending the day on purple/10 or more tickets is a VERY different phone call than when they end the day on red/0 tickets. Students earn points for the color they end on each day, or the number of tickets they have. The points are tallied each day and converted to Character Cash to use in the school store.
