Make a copy and place it in your literacy folder!
Click on the digital learning tasks to learn about Dolphins, Great White Sharks, Submarines and the Lost City of Atlantis.
Scroll to page 7, look for number 3 in the top right hand corner. Use the grid to choose which independent learning tasks you will complete each day when you are not working with Whaea. You must complete all of the learning tasks by the end of the week.

Learn: How long have sea turtles been around? What are some
of the dangers they face when they hatch? What are the
predators that hunt them on land? How about the
ocean? How do human activities effect sea turtles? Do
human activities have an impact on any other animals?
Which ones? Why? Do you know any other endangered
species?
Create: Use WWF's Species Directory to find an endangered
species you are interested in. Click on the animal's
profile and find out its endangered status, how many
are left, its height, weight, scientific name, habitat,
what the threats to its life is.
Create a brochure about an endangered animal. This is an information text, remember to include titles,
headings, bullet points, paragraphs and pictures.

Read the following article about The Paralympics.
Once you have read the article find five facts from the article about the Paralympics and type them onto the google drawing template. Make sure you make a copy of the google drawing and put it in your literacy folder.

Option 1: Create a poster using google draw to help other people to learn what to do if they feel worried. ( Open up a new Google Draw, add your initials and the title Jump!, Save in Literacy folder )
Option 2: Create a presentation to share with the class about how to stop worrying. This should be 6 slides long. Slide 1: A title slide to introduce your presentation, slide 2: state what worry is, use the statement 'when we worry...', slide 3-5: list and explain ways to stop us worrying and to become calm. ( Open up a new Google Slide, add your initials and the title Jump!, Save in Literacy folder )

Option 3: Make a video to demonstrate how we could all help if an oil spill were to occur off of Waitara Beach.
