- create a brainstorm
- write down all the words you can think of that describe and retell what was happening at the beach
- think of the 5WsH: when, where, who, what, why, how
- think of your 5 senses: sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell
25 minutes writing
- retell our visit to the beach... what did YOU do while we were there?
5-10 minutes editing/revising
- have you got ideas well organised?
- have you used different sentence starters?
- have you used different lengths of sentences?
- have you used powerful words (verbs, adjectives, adverbs...)
- what can you change/improve?
