With the experiences of being an IT engineer and corporate consultant, Associate Professor William Wang has supervised research projects and provided industrial consultancy in Australasia and Asian regions regarding enterprise systems and process management, logistics, and digital health management. He has a number of Ph.D. graduates working in the universities, research institutes, and the industry. He also has experience in practical projects in Enterprise Systems such as the planning of implementing SAP and MS Dynamics.
These projects have specifically highlighted the interdisciplinary issues that are related to B2B integration, enterprise systems adoption & maintenance, and supply chain configuration for large firms and SMEs with various industrial context (e.g., manufacturing, service, healthcare provider, and government). Those are both quantitative and qualitative. He also serves on the editorial board/advisory board of several international journals and a starting member for an international conference on digital health management.

Karyn is the Director of Digitisation Strategy at the Waikato Management school. In this role she works with academic staff across the Waikato Management School and the University of Waikato to develop a strategy and implementation plan. She is also a project champion of new initiatives in the digital space in face to face and online teaching and learning. She is also an active researcher and teacher in the area of Digital Business. Karyn has supervised research projects and provided consultancy in the areas of digital business improvement, social media and digital health management. Karyn has PhD students in social media for entrepreneurship and health behaviour change through gamification. Karyn’s PhD graduates have examined emergency management and cloud computing and social media in small to medium enterprises and currently work in research and the university sector.
Khan (Senior Lecture at Waikato Management School) is a computational social scientist with expertise in social media analytics, social network analysis, network data visualization, social media strategy, and network science. He specializes in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. His main research is focused on the link between social media use and competitive advantage and how businesses create value with social media data. His other research interests include network science, technology adoption and user behavior, Government 2.0. Khan’s research is practically relevant and yet academic rigorous. Practical findings from my research, for instance, were used to develop United Nation's APC-ICT (a regional arm of UN that promote ICTs in developing countries) guidelines for social media use in the public sector.
Khan’s research performance has been exceptional. Since his Ph.D. in 2011, he has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. His research, for example, has appeared in several A* journals including Journal of Association for Information Systems, Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, and Scientometrics, among others. Khan has also authored and co-author 4 books on social media analytics and social media use. For example, his Amazon’s top-selling book titled, "Seven Layers of Social Media Analytics" provides one of the first comprehensive framework to understand and mine business insights from social media data.
In addition to his research and teaching, Khan actively engaged with academic and professional bodies. For instance, he has served as track co-chair for The Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS 2016) Track: Social Media Analytics; and PACIS 2018 Track: Social Media Analytics & Business Impact. He was also a PC member for PCIS 2017, the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS, 2017), and International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2016). On several occasions, Khan has also served as a social media consultant for United Nations APC-ICT. He also frequently speaks at international conferences and has given several invited talks in different locations including in South Korea, China, Indonesia, and Bhutan.
Shivendu is lecturer at the Waikato Management School in the area of Digital Business, with expertise in data analytics, project management, open innovation, information and communication technology for development (ICT4D). He is currently finishing his PhD from University of Pittsburgh, USA. His research has been successfully funded by Berg Centre Foundation and Young Researcher Initiation Grants. His research is focussed on design, implementation and value capture through instruments of open innovation. Additionally, he also works in area of sustainability, ICT4D, IT security and privacy. He is also supervising PhD and Masters students in his current role.
Shivendu has a rich background in practice as well. He has worked five years as datacenter architect and project manager for Wipro Technologies limited and successfully commissioned projects of 50 million plus USD in energy and utility sector across Europe including UK, Ireland and Germany. In addition, he worked on multiple consultancy projects in his career across India. He also serves as an independent board of director for Digital Security Services Pvt. Ltd. India.
His papers appeared in Journal of Strategic Information Systems (an A* Journal in ABDC list) and proceedings of international conferences like ICIS and Midwest Academy of Management. In his free time he likes to play chess and squash.
