Call for Papers

The New Zealand Information Systems Doctoral Consortium (NZISDC) 2019 invites all Doctorate students in the field of Information Systems and Information Science from all New Zealand universities to participate in the 10th Annual Information Systems Doctoral Conference at University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand.

The NZISDC 2019 presents an excellent platform for Doctoral student to meet with peers and leading academics from around the country, present their research and receive constructive feedback for further development of their research. The consortium participants will also have an opportunity to expand their understanding of the academic research career path.

  • The consortium submission should be written by the doctoral students. Supervisors can be acknowledged in the submission, but should not be added as co-authors.
  • There is NO Registration Fee for the Consortium.
  • Participation requires the Presentation of a Paper or a Poster.
  • Based on the previous NZISDC, each paper presenters may have an approx. 15 to 20 minutes presentation plus Q&A. The actual time would be decided based on the number of participants and rooms available.
  • Students who wish to participate have an option of submitting either a three-to-five page paper or a poster.
  • Please note that posters are typically more suitable for students who started their studies recently, i.e. in the last six months.

Poster Guidelines

  • The dimensions of your poster should not exceed 120 cm wide by 85 cm high
  • Your thesis title and name should be clearly stated on the poster
  • Divide your poster into appropriate sections; each of these sections should be numbered in sequence to guide the reader through the poster
  • The introduction should contain three to five sentences outlining essential information necessary to understand the study and why it was done
  • The objectives of the study, the questions to be asked or the hypothesis to be tested should be clearly stated in as few words as possible
  • Outline your methods briefly (if applicable)
  • We recommend using self-explanatory figures, graphs, and/or tables to present your research; if you use symbols, please provide a clear legend
  • Your poster will be displayed for the duration of the conference; the poster should be put up no later than 09:00 on the day of the consortium
  • You are asked to be present at your poster for the duration of the lightning talk session (the session time to be determined)

Submission

  • As this consortium does not have proceedings, there is no further paper submission guideline but a proper referencing style should be used. The submission is to show the intention of attending and topics for programme arrangement.
  • Paper/poster should be submitted to nzisdc2019@waikato.ac.nz so that we could know your content to prepare the programme.
