How does my child find out about sport?

Waiheke High School offers a huge variety of sports to students, which vary as the year and curriculum progress.

At the beginning of the year, our Sports Coordinator Shelley, talks to all of the year groups in their assemblies and outlines all of the opportunities throughout the year. We also make it clear to students how to hear the most up to date information.  

We offer a sports timetable for each term which shows what sports are happening before, during and after school each day. This is shared around school grounds, in our school newsletter, on our facebook and instagram page as well as on our school website. 

When we have certain tournaments and sports leagues coming up, we will share notices for trials in assembly and all parents will receive communication from the school about up and coming sports trials and opportunities.  

We have a clear communication objective of sharing information with students and their parents as sometimes it takes a gentle nudge from home to get a student to take the leap of trying a sport or pushing themselves further.
