In Year 10 Science at Waiheke High School we are focused on developing key skills and scientific concepts to prepare students for NCEA level 1. Our main goal is link scientific ideas to real world situations to show the relevance and importance science has in our students lives.
Highlights include dissections of sheep hearts to explore the cardiovascular system, dissecting a chicken leg to see how tendons and ligaments work and a class trip to Goat Island marine reserve for the Marine Biology unit.
