Rhythm in Red

Varsity mixed auditioned show choir

The Choir is both a training and performing group aimed at increasing individual musical performance and gaining an understanding of good choral literature. Students are introduced to representative selections from varied types of music and more advanced vocal techniques are presented. Show music and professional choreography are featured. Emphasis is placed on achieving a more highly skilled performance.

Requirements

Grades: 10 - 12
P.E. exemption of 1 credit for those that participate in year-long choir.
Two Semesters
Prerequisites: Previous experience is needed. Auditions in January for the next year.
One Credit

New Edition

JV mixed auditioned show choir

The Choir is both a training and performing group aimed at increasing individual musical performance and gaining an understanding of good choral literature. Students are introduced to representative selections from varied types of music and more advanced vocal techniques are presented. Students will learn all genres including Vocal Jazz, Acapella, Pop, Sacred, and Show Choir. Emphasis is placed on achieving a higher level of performance. Professional choreography is involved.

Elite Choir

Unisex women's auditioned show choir

Elite Choir consists of advanced-level female singers. The Choir is both a training and performing group aimed at increasing individual musical performance and gaining an understanding of good choral literature. Students are introduced to representative selections from varied types of music and more advanced vocal techniques are presented. Emphasis is placed on achieving a higher level of performance. All genres of music and professional choreography are involved.

Concert Choir

Entry-level non-auditioned show choir

The Choir is both a training and performing group aimed at increasing individual musical performance and gaining an understanding of good choral literature. ALL freshmen are in this introductory group. There are no auditions for upperclassmen who want to join these ensembles. Students are introduced to representative selections from varied types of music and more advanced vocal techniques are presented. Students will have the opportunity to work with professional choreographers and sing all genres of music. Emphasis is placed on achieving a more polished performance.
