Spanish Honor Society
The National Spanish Honor Society (SHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students in their Spanish language study. More than just an honor roll, SHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. The Winneconne Chapter of the National Spanish Honor Society has a long history and tradition in the Winneconne Community. Being selected as a member of SHS is one of the highest honors a student can achieve while in Spanish class. Active members of the Winneconne Chapter of the National Spanish Honor Society are expected to demonstrate excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
Other expectations of SHS members include:
Completing 24 hours of community service related to Spanish prior to graduation.
Participating in the chapter’s SHS service projects for the school year
Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 in all attempted Spanish classes
Demonstrating leadership by holding leadership positions in and out of the school setting
Demonstrating exceptional character in the school and community
Attending chapter meetings and participate in chapter activities (at least one concession)
Maintaining 3’s in PAW Conduct grades while a member
