Essay Contest open to students in grades 9-12 by the Oct. 31 deadline who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States.

To enter, an Entrant must submit their tiny memoir, which should be a short, powerful, true story about a meaningful experience from your own life and must be both "original" and unique. Submissions must comply with the following requirements: Written Submissions must not be more than one hundred (100) words (not including the title) Submissions must be created specifically for the Contest. Submissions must be the original work of the Entrant. Submissions must not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights (including, but not limited to, material that violates privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights).
Each year, middle and high school students have the chance to make their case on big ideas — and compete for cash prizes. This year, we award over $12,000 to students.

Write one sijo in English on a topic of your choice. A title for the sijo is not required.
