Glen Meadow Middle School

21st Century Community Learning Center

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) is a federally funded after-school program that provides students with academic enrichment opportunities and will offer support beyond classroom curriculum.

The program begins on Monday, September 18, 2023 and will be open through June 13, 2024. Vernon Township residents in grades 6-8 can enroll at any time.

“This project was funded in its entirety with federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act Title IV, Part B, 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant funds through a grant agreement with the New Jersey Department of Education.”

Students are able to try new recipes and learn more about nutrition and cooking. In the picture above, we are making fruit empanadas.

Each month, families are invited to join us after school so students can showcase their hard work. In the picture above, students are showing their mom what they have been creating in the Deserted Island Challenge.

Our green screen provides us with a back drop that allows us to be anywhere we want and learn about new places. In the picture above, students are working on the beginning stages of a talk show.

We have a wonderful partnership with The Farm at Glenwood Mountain, located right by Vernon Township High School. Students love visiting with the animals and learning more about agriculture.
