Community Visit Day - August 25th

On August 25th, Barre community members came together to discuss assets, challenges, and ideas for their future in 9 in-person and 3 virtual forums on topics chosen in advance by a steering committee of local leaders including Aging in Barre; Transportation; Substance Use Disorder; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Opportunities in the Face of Climate Change; Housing & Homelessness; Recreation, Arts & Culture; Addressing Empty Buildings & Downtown Vitality; and Supporting Barre Students & Families. They were joined by a listening team of federal, state, business, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders.

Community Meeting Day - September 29th

On September 29th, Barre community members came back together to review, discuss, and vote to prioritize ideas for action shared in August (see raw forum notes here). Participants had the opportunity to "champion" ideas they felt were important, before engaging in two rounds of dot voting to select priorities around which to form locally-driven task forces to advance work. The three priorities chosen were:

Develop a Barre Community Center

Improve River Access

Start a Barre Housing Task Force

You can read more about each task force and sign up to join them here.

Community Resource Meeting - October 20th

On Wednesday, October 20th, from 6:30-9:00pm, Barre community came back together in person and virtually for the final step in the All In For Barre process. Each of the three task forces chosen on September 29th began to build action plans, set the scope of their work, and met with a visiting team of resource providers and experts to identify available resources and funding opportunities.
