March 13 2024. The first day started at 5:30 am in Menen. From there we left for the Czech Republic with our fully loaded van. We drove through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Poland to finally arrive in Stupná around 8:15 PM. After unpacking our suitcases, eating a delicious pizza and having had a whole journey behind me, I think I will be happy. have a good night.

March 14 2024. The second day in the Czech Republic. After I got up in the morning and enjoyed a delicious breakfast, I went to the supermarket with the 2 teachers and Zinaida. In Lidl they have about everything the same as in Belgium but twice as cheap as at home. In the afternoon we went to the company for the first time. There we received a thorough tour from Walraven's HR manager.

March 15 2024. Our first real working day started at 8 am in Walraven with a start-up conversation with Mr. Jaroslav Šulc. We decided which project to start with first and that was the Aerofoam bonding project. We started by researching the materials and how the pieces are now assembled so that we can automate the process. At 2 p.m. the working day was over and we left for Pardubice. After a walk through the city we arrived at the ice hockey arena: Dynamo. After the victory we enjoyed a McDonald's meal.

March 16 2024. Start of the weekend. Around 10:30 we left by bus for Prague. The capital of the Czech Republic is very beautifully built. I love architecture so it was a very nice trip for me. Besides looking at buildings, we had free time in the city. Me and Zinaida decided to go shopping. On the way back from Prague we stopped at the supermarket for ingredients for pancakes. We made our own pancake batter in the house. Then we ate pancakes for dinner.

March 17 2024. The 2nd day of the weekend. We didn't have much planned for this day. We got up at 10 o'clock. Enjoyed a quiet breakfast. Then I got ready to start the day. I ate puree for lunch. After clearing the table we left together for the town of Prachov. Where we took a long walk in the afternoon. We walked 4 km through the woods. We went from very low to very high points. We stood at the top of very large rocks with a beautiful view.

March 18 2024. The first Monday here in the Czech Republic. We woke up at 7am and left for work after breakfast. At 8 o'clock in the morning we quietly start our computers and then fly in. After Friday's research, Zinaida and I were able to start drawing our technical drawings. In the evening the boys spent hours preparing dinner for the barbecue. After dinner, we all enjoyed the evening activity together and went to sleep for the next working day.

March 19 2024. Our alarm was set at 7:05 am. After a quick breakfast we left by van to Walraven Horka where the working day started at 8 am. We worked hard all day on the glue machine. After a whole working day at the computer, we went home with an almost complete assembly. When all the students were home from work, the teachers decided to go for another walk with the boys. Which meant the girls had the entire house to themselves.

March 20 2024. Wednesday morning we got up for the last time with Mr. Devos and Mr. De Bruine. After breakfast we went back to the company. Our 3rd working day of the week started at 8 am. Our very first meeting was in Horka at 10:30 am. We sat together with our manager, technical advisor, head of final production and the team leader of the workers. They were very positive about the work we did. After the working day we welcomed the new teachers. Then 10 of us at 1 table ate our dinner. After dinner we watched a movie and then went to sleep.

March 21 2024. We got up at 7 am and after breakfast we waved goodbye to Mr. Devos and Mr. De Bruine. Then we left for work. At work we began to work out the 2nd idea of ​​gluing. At 11 am we were allowed to put the pieces together ourselves so that we had a better idea of ​​how the machine should be put together. After the working day we look for the Nova Paka brewery. In the evening we all eat together. And then I go to sleep early for the last working day of the week.

March 22 2024. Our alarm was set at 7:05 am. After a quick breakfast we left by van to Walraven Horka where the working day started at 8 am. Zinaida and I split up today. I continued working on the project and created a document that we can use to run the meeting next Monday. At 10 o'clock Zinaida came to eat lunch together with the other workers. 4 hours later we sat together again to end our working day. After work we went to the store together. After eating the Hot Dogs we had a game night. Then we went to sleep around 0 am.

March 23 2024. This morning we were allowed to sleep in for the first time in a long time. The alarm went off around 10 am, but we stayed in our bed for a long time. When we finally got out of bed it was already time for lunch. Then I quickly got ready so that we could leave for Pardubice. Unfortunately the weather was a bit disappointing, but luckily the cold weather made it all too fun to shop. After all the shopping we went to the ice hockey. We got a nice souvenir from Dynamo and watched the match. Won 3-2. What a match! In the evening we ate Burger King together and then left for Stupna.

March 24 2024. This morning was different than yesterday. We got up around 8:30 am to leave for Prague. Luckily I was able to sleep in the car. When we arrived in Prague we left from the Palladium shopping center like last time. This time we explored more of the city. Together with the group we strolled through the streets of Prague. We saw a cute Christmas market in March. We ate at a fancy Italian restaurant. We encountered protesters standing up for the victims of the war between Palestine and Israel. We ate a Trdelnik , a famous dessert in the city. After a whole day of walking, we left for the house around 6 p.m. 

March 25 2024. Our last working days! We got up around 7am and after a quick breakfast we completed our picnic ready to go to the company. We quickly completed all the preparations for the 12:30 meeting. After an hour of meeting with Walraven staff and Mr. van den Bremt, it was our turn to evaluate. After the evaluation, Mr. van den Bremt was given a tour of the company and then we left for the house. The boys choose to visit the rocks again while Zinaida and I enjoyed an afternoon nap. When the boys got back we were complete, we were all ready to go out for dinner with the bosses of Walraven and Equans.

March 26 2024. Only 1 more working day to go after this! Our alarm went off as usual at 7:05 am. We got up, got ready for work and left in the van. We worked well so that we didn't have to finish everything quickly on the last day. After the working day we went together to visit the highest mountain in our region. We first stopped along a beautiful dam. Luckily there was a lot of snow there so we could play with the snow. Then we drove to the highest point you could reach by car. We drove past many ski slopes where no one was there. Once at the highest point itself there was a lot of wind and even more snow! When we all got too cold, we went back to the house.

March 27 2024.The last day in the company. We got up at 7am and quickly prepared our picnic for the afternoon. Our working day started at 8am. We put the finishing touches on it so that we are ready for our very last meeting with the people of Walraven. The meeting was at 12:30 pm and we were allowed to leave for the house at 2 pm. Because we were leaving the next day, we had to clean the entire house. Our suitcases still had to be made so that was our evening activity. After eating macaronni we went to sleep so that we were ready for the drive back to Belgium.

March 28 2024. This is the end of the adventure with Erasmus 2024! We left for Belgium around 5:30 am. We stopped a few times along the way. In the afternoon we ate together one last time at a Burger King in Germany. And after a 12 hour drive we arrived in Menen around 5:30 PM. After the last group photo we each left for home. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to participate in this internship. We learned a lot but also enjoyed this trip a lot!
