DESMOS Online Calculator

The free DESMOS online calculators (four function, scientific, and graphing) can be accessed with a computer, tablet, or smartphone and a Virginia version is now included in SOL test administrations.  DESMOS takes accessibility very seriously (one of their board members has a visual impairment) and their online calculators are filled with features that support assistive technology users.

EquatIO

EquatIO allows you to create equations, formulas, and more digitally through speaking, drawing, or typing problems (think UDL) directly into your device.  By moving math out of the pen and paper era, EquatIO supports students with learning disabilities or visual impairments hear their math read aloud to them.  Available as a Chrome extension, Web app, Windows app, and Mac app.

Mathshare

An inclusive instructional technology, Mathshare helps students metacognitively process and answer multi-step problems.  Students answer questions step by step, providing rationale for making the steps, explaining their thinking.  Mathshare compliments cognitive strategy instruction with technology aligned for multi-step problems. Mathshare embeds accessibility features like text to speech, read aloud, and drawing.  Best of all.. Mathshare is FREE for teachers!  

Write or type any math problem and Math Assistant in OneNote can solve it for you—helping you reach the solution quickly, or displaying step-by-step instructions that help you learn how to reach the solution on your own. After solving your equation, there are many options to continue exploring math learning with Math Assistant.  Note that this feature is only available if you have a Microsoft 365 subscription.
