Attendees and Presenters

All talks will be held in Davidson Hall (DAV) Room 281

On Friday, Dinner and Trivia will be held in Newman Library Goodall Room and 101S

On Saturday:

All Workshops, Poster Sessions, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be held in the Data Decisions Sciences Building (DDS)

Workshops will be held in Rooms 130, 150, 155, and 220

Poster Sessions, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be in the Atrium

Afternoon Panels will be in New Classroom Building (NCB) 160 (the building is also known as just Classroom Building)

The Closing Ceremony will be in the DDS Atrium

Please Cross-reference with the Schedule to verify you are in the right place

Wi-Fi (eduroam) will be available during the conference.

If you are presenting a poster, please arrive by 8:00 AM or as early as possible on Saturday at the DDS Atrium to set up your poster and still have time for breakfast

If we are providing your housing, your hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn (900 Plantation Rd. Blacksburg, Virginia)

Each attendee who requests hotel accommodations will be provided a shared room at the hotel. 

Professors/advisors will be given single rooms.

Transportation will be provided by VT SPS Officers in an official Virginia Tech van twice Saturday morning and evening to and from the conference events and hotel on Plantation Road.

If you miss or can't make the van, Blacksburg has an excellent bus transit system!

For Friday: Take the HWD bus from stop #1216 to stop #1106. Walk past McBryde Hall towards Torgerson Hall. Travel over the crosswalk and continue to walk towards Newman Library. Enter on the 1st floor entrance.

Returning to Hotel: Take the HWD bus from stop #1106 (where you got off coming to campus) to stop #1206. Cross Prices Fork Road to return to the Hilton Garden Hotel.

Important: Pull the yellow wire on the bus to request a stop. The bus will not stop unless someone requests a stop. Keep an eye on your map to make sure you don't prematurely request a stop or you don't miss it.

If you are driving yourself, Kent Street Garage, North End Center Garage, Squires parking lot, and the Architecture Annex lot are all available for parking with small meter fees for Friday night. 

For the main conference, parking is available at Perry Street Parking Garage on weekends. This is conveniently located right next to DDS.

You will be moving on foot from building to building for different events. There will be a VT SPS Officer Line Leader who will guide you from building to building. If you miss the line leader or get lost, refer to the Maps to guide yourself to your locations. Important note: Virginia Tech is building a new dining hall and a new undergraduate laboratory building! This construction will interfere with pathways and walkways near and between NCB and DDS. Please follow the signage and the provided walkways, and follow the Line Leader to avoid getting lost.
