Service Without Borders is a transdisciplinary, student-led organization whose mission is to share the spirit of Virginia Tech’s motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), locally and globally by partnering with communities in need through cross-cultural exchanges. SWB projects engage students in real-world design, project management, construction, marketing, fundraising, and cultural experiences. Students will work alongside professionals and community leaders to assess issues in local and international communities and address them with culture-sensitive engineering and educational solutions. Students will work to find personal funding for these projects as well as advice and mentorship from professionals.
Our Approach to Service
Service Without Borders values listening, facilitating, and empowering communities. Our members are culturally open-minded, and our trips explore cultural exchange through community-driven projects. We embrace diversity; our mission involves becoming a close family with our international partners.
