Virginia Big Tree Contest
Do you like to spend time outdoors? Do you spend time in the forest? If so this project is for you! Big trees are everywhere! You can win prizes for locating ginormous trees! Eligible trees must have a trunk circumference of 9.5 inches at 4.5 feet above the ground and be at least 13 feet tall. Participating in this project is easy: find a big tree, take measurements, get a picture, record the GPS coordinates for the site. Submit tree date and project materials at the Extension Office. Trees must be located in Russell County.
