The lesson may also be extended to include citizenship through a discussion of the experiences of deaf/hard-of-hearing individuals and how they may be assisted by technology.
Use of the pipe chimes incorporates music and encourages creativity.

Kit - Mecklenburg 4-H has a Light kit that includes the book Pigaroons and materials for small groups to complete reflection and refraction activities and to construct a prism (containers for water, mirrors, magnifying lenses, flashlights). The kit also includes one prism and a set of lenses.
