The deliverables for this capstone project are a quality assurance document and economic analysis that include a process flow diagram, quality verification checklist, and product recommendations. The quality assurance document outlines and describes in detail our process design for the newborn screening process and the transportation of blood spot collection cards from the hospital to the state lab. The economic analysis of our proposed solution shows how the new design reduces costs for major stakeholders involved.
The Quality Assurance Document can be found here
The Process Flow Diagram below describes in detail our new design for this process
The Economic Analysis outlines and discuses the substantial financial benefit the new process design. Each major stakeholder; the family/infant, the hospital, and the state of VA have areas of savings from the new process design.
