During the summer of 2026, I interned with National Geographic's cartography department. Here, I made several maps for the National Geographic Magazine, the Bookazine, digital articles, and social media. Over the course of 12 weeks, I created 6 maps, assisted on 1, and made 20 first draft maps for a Bookzine Atlas.
My first published map was of the arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi network. This is a first of it's kind map published on June 11, 2026. I made one version for web browser size (left) as well as one for mobile phones (right).
This map was created for National Geographic photographer, Mathieu Paley's photo exposure. For over 20 years he has walked Afghanistan's Wakhan Corridor.
