Youth must complete a 4-H Next Generation Entrepreneur Project Book.
Please consult the Resources page to determine if your food product can be sold at the Farmers Market and what kind of labeling it might need. Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agents, Lenah Nguyen (540-727-3435) or Stuart Vermaak are great resources if you would like to discuss your product ideas and food safety and labeling concerns.
Participants are responsible for producing their own items for the event and developing their business plan, brand, and packaging.
Youth under the age of 16 must have an adult on site for the Warrenton Farmers Market. Parents, please remember that the point of this market is for your child to be able to run their booth on their own. If the younger ones need help making change, it’s fine to jump in and use that as a teaching opportunity.
On Market Days - set up will begin at 7 AM and the market will open at 8 AM. Clean up will begin at 12 PM and conclude by 1 PM. Please consult the Resources page for a checklist of items to bring to the market.
All vendors must bring their own tables, chairs, and displays to the Warrenton Farmers Market.
We will not approve vendor applications for Multi-Level Marketing or direct sales businesses.
In your application, please provide as much detail as you can to the Business Planning questions and we will help you flesh out the details in the educational sessions.
