Nano State of Mind: Size and Scale
There are many available versions of the size and scale activity to get folks thinking about how small nano is. For our version of the activity, we hand out one set of the following 12 images to each pair of students and then ask them to place the pictures in order from largest to smallest. Then we ask them to hold up one at a time each one that they think comes next while revealing the size of each object.

"Exploring Size - Powers of Ten" is a card game exploring the relative sizes of various objects. Visitors compete to organize their hand of cards into lists of objects from largest to smallest. "Explore Science - Zoom into Nano Powers of Ten Game" (2016) version designed for groups and community outreach.
