March 31 - April 4, 2025

Accelerated Math & 6 Math:

This week we started a new unit over area, surface area and volume. We found area of multiple polygons including parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids. We are also practicing finding the area of composite figures. 

Reading

In Reading, students have continued their weekly schedule of assignments: Vocab paper practice, Vocab Picture This (Google Classroom), Reading Log Entry, Amplify lessons over Greek Mythology, and our Vocab Quiz on Friday.

Writing

In Writing, students have acted out their first chapter on the Adventures of Ulysses which is a Greek mythology story.  Each chapter has multiple written response questions to follow. Students can access a digital copy of the book by searching through Destiny which is one of our library apps on Classlink.

This week we gathered materials for our solar ovens. We researched extreme weather in a variety of states and read an article about cloud types.

Geography

This week we learned about the different layers of the rainforest and the animals that live there. We talked about deforestation and how it effects the living things in the rainforest and larger things like global warming.
