Accelerated Math:

This week we practiced rates. Students found unit rates and used them to compare and solve problems. We also used conversions between units. We will continue to review rates and ratios next week and check for understanding on Friday with a quiz.

Reading

In Reading, students are trying to bounce back from having very few classes over the past two weeks. Our goal is to wrap up our Yellow Fever Amplify unit before the quarter ends. Our One Pager Summative Assignment is due by the end of the quarter on March 13th.

Writing

In Writing, students have finished the X-Men portion of our X-Men/Civil Rights Movement unit and we are moving into Civil Rights to finish the quarter.

This week we picked science fair topics and started learning about the water cycle. A permission slip was sent home for science fair. Please sign and turn in by Tuesday March 4th.

We are ending our earthquake unit with some research and data interpretation about them. Some classes participated in "mystery geography" with another American school to guess where they are in the USA!
