Accelerated Math & 6 Math
Accelerated Math:
This week we practiced solving and graphing one and two step inequalities. Students started a project, Math Menu, over two-step inequalities and two-step equations.
6 Math:
This week we started a new unit, Ratios. Homework and notes will be posted on Google classroom. We will not be using the textbook for this unit and it can be recycled. Students will receive a new textbook when we return to completing assignments out of it. We will have a quiz on Friday February 7th over ratios.
ELA
Reading
In Reading, students are sticking to their weekly schedules and our Amplify unit. This week we are continuing to pursue the yellow fever plague.
We are also incorporating a more routine in-class reading schedule, so your child should be currently reading a book at school, and encouraged to read at home as well. Reading progress will be graded.
Writing
In Writing students are finishing their research paper unit and will be starting a very exciting unit on Friday connecting the Civil Rights Movement to some famous comic book characters and story lines.
Science
This week we learned about heat transfer and thermal contraction and expansion. We will have a test next Friday in science.
As always, reach out with any questions 🙂
